“Order was never the point. The rupture is where it gets interesting.”
Beauty in Chaos begins at the moment of breakdown. These works do not depict disorder from a safe distance; they are made inside it. JB builds each canvas through accumulation and collision, layering gesture over gesture until the surface holds more than it seems capable of holding. What emerges is not resolved composition but a kind of turbulent equilibrium: the eye finds resting points without the painting offering them. The series draws on the tradition of expressionist mark-making while refusing its emotional predictability. These are paintings that reward sustained attention rather than immediate legibility.
