“Symmetry as authority. The android surveys its own architecture.”
Symmetry takes on a new charge in Series 12. The android portrait here is composed with a frontal formality that recalls classical portraiture, the bilateral axis absolute, the gaze direct. JB uses this symmetry not as a limitation but as the series' sharpest statement of android authority: the subject occupies the canvas with total self-possession. The palette returns to the high-saturation chromatics of the earlier chapters, cobalt and neon against deep ground, reaffirming the visual vocabulary just before the sequence's conclusion.
