“The circuit opens. Interior light escapes the android's architecture.”
Series 9 reverses the visual logic that has governed the Circuit Splendor sequence. Where earlier chapters construct the android from without, assembling a portrait from surface fragments, this installment suggests an interior. Light appears to emanate from within the circuit mosaic itself, as though the android contains a source rather than simply reflecting one. JB introduces this luminosity through a careful arrangement of near-white and pale yellow fragments at the portrait's core, the surrounding chromatics deepening outward to create a sense of radiating illumination. The android, for the first time in the series, appears to glow.
