“Always spinning. The robot who found joy in the revolution itself.”
Whoopee Whirlybot is defined by a single irrepressible impulse: rotation. The character is illustrated in states of perpetual spin, arms extended, the centrifugal force of its own joy making it impossible to stand still. JB uses motion blur and color trails to convey this kinetic energy within a static image, the composition itself seeming to turn when looked at directly. The palette is warm and high-contrast, saturated primaries against clean grounds, the visual energy of the character amplified by the chromatic choices. Whirlybot is uncomplicated in the best way: it spins because spinning is what it is for.
