Peppy Pixelbot is JB's love letter to the first generation of digital imagery, a robot character rendered in the deliberately low-resolution aesthetic of early computing. The pixel grid is structural here, not nostalgic: JB uses the constraints of the format as compositional tools, building the character's expressiveness from the limitations of the grid rather than despite them. The palette runs bright and primary, the colors of early display technology that have since acquired a warmth through time and association. Pixelbot manages to feel both of its era and entirely current.
